Two site managers for Barratt Developments have won a top national award for the quality of the new homes they are building on the outskirts of Hull. Business Up North reports that the prestigious prizes were awarded to Jamie Stephenson of Poppyfields in Cottingham, and Mark Greenley of Harrier Chase in Brough.
The pair both won the Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC). The UK-wide competition was established over 40 years ago to inspire the highest standards of quality in the construction industry. Judges visit hundreds of sites up and down the country every year, and select reginal winners.
The winners from the regional rounds are then judged against entries from across the whole country, which makes the double award for Hull extra special. The aim is to raise standards within the sector, and also to create superbly built new homes which will stand the test of time, and increase the enjoyment and satisfaction of those who live in them.
Daniel Smith, Managing Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, commented: “We want to make our customers happy by building high quality homes for them. These awards recognise only the best new homes and well run sites and we are very proud of our record having won more of these awards than any other housebuilder for 18 years in a row.”
He added: “Every customer who buys a home built by a site manager who has won a Pride in the Job Quality award can have confidence that their home is of the highest possible quality.”
The site managers are judged on a range of criteria, including attention to detail, technical knowledge, health and safety, and customer service. Barratt developments has an excellent rack record in the awards, having won a total of 98 over the years, more than any other house builder.
